Diptyque
Diptyque is a Parisian Maison that has translated nature and memory into scent since the early 1960s. Founded in 1961 as a boutique on Boulevard Saint-Germain, originally selling fabrics, objets, and curiosities, it soon evolved into a creative space for three artist friends with a shared passion for travel, art, and the sensory world.
Nature has remained central to the house’s olfactory language. Across the collection, fragrances evoke Mediterranean fig groves, spice-filled woodland air, and the humid calm of tropical blossoms. This focus on direct sensory imagery gives many classic Diptyque perfumes an atmospheric character rooted in real places and moments, rather than in perfume codes alone.
Diptyque also helped define the modern luxury scented candle, setting an early benchmark for high-quality home fragrance. In 1968, the Maison launched its first personal fragrance, L’Eau, a unisex Eau de Toilette inspired by historical potpourri recipes and notes of spice and citrus. Today, Diptyque continues to pair artistic imagination with refined craftsmanship, while remaining rooted in subtle, evocative compositions.
